The "Double Hundred Plan" of the College of Food Science and Engineering, Ningbo University, Visits Tianyuan — Deep Integration of Industry, Academia, and Research to Discuss the Future

On the afternoon of February 4, 2025, Gong Wenjie, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Food Science and Engineering at Ningbo University, led a delegation of faculty representatives, graduate representatives, and alumni to Zhejiang Tianyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. for a "Double Hundred Plan" visit and exchange. Huang Bisheng, President of the Jiangbei Ningbo University Alumni Association and Chairman of Zhejiang Tianhao Holding Co., Ltd., and Li Jie, Executive President of the Alumni Association, warmly received the guests. The event focused on the deep integration of industry, academia, and research, pressing the "fast-forward button" on cooperation between Tianyuan Biotechnology and Ningbo University in areas such as food nutrition, bioactive substances, and health product R&D.

The guests successively toured the company's science and technology exhibition hall and the Jiangbei Alumni Association exchange space, gaining a systematic understanding of the latest progress of Tianyuan Biotechnology's core technology platforms—including cell engineering, genetic engineering, and biological testing—as well as the industrial application of its research achievements. The one-stop presentation of innovative achievements in the exhibition hall, such as iPSC technology, the development of immune function assessment standards, and the stem cell translational resource bank, left a deep impression on the college's faculty and students.

At the subsequent symposium, Chairman Huang Bisheng extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Ningbo University's College of Food Science and Engineering and gave a detailed introduction to Tianyuan Biotechnology's development history, core business, and future plans. He pointed out that the college has strong capabilities in food nutrition and bioactive substance research, which are highly aligned with the company's product lines, and expressed the hope that both sides would join hands to build an integrated innovation platform for industry, academia, research, and application. General Manager Jiao Mingming, combining the company's product and service pipeline with its scientific and technological strengths, highlighted Tianyuan Biotechnology's innovative achievements in deeply cultivating biotechnology, and expressed broad prospects for in-depth cooperation with the college in areas such as plant exosomes, medical aesthetics and skincare, and functional foods.

Associate Professor Cheng Pengfei from the College of Food Science and Engineering delivered a special report titled "Deepening the Blue Granary: Exploring the Value of Microalgae Exosomes," providing an in-depth analysis of the application prospects of microalgae exosomes in food health and biomedicine. Faculty representatives including Xu Feng, Zhang Xin, and Ou Changrong also shared their respective research directions and latest achievements. The on-site discussion was lively, sparking numerous collaborative ideas.

To deepen collaborative talent cultivation, a "Ningbo University Part-time Master's Degree Graduate Instructor Appointment Ceremony" was held after the symposium. Secretary Gong Wenjie presented appointment letters to Huang Bisheng and Li Jie, formally introducing enterprise mentors to participate in graduate student training and building a new bridge for two-way flow between university intellect and enterprise practice. Secretary Gong Wenjie stated that the college will take this event as an opportunity to promote the precise alignment of research strengths with enterprise industrial needs and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. Tianyuan Biotechnology will also continue to leverage its technological platform and industrial resource advantages, joining hands with the college and the alumni association to make sustained efforts in technology R&D, talent cultivation, and achievement translation, contributing more "Ningbo University strength" to the high-quality development of the food biotechnology industry.

This "Double Hundred Plan" visit to Tianyuan marks a new starting point for the in-depth integration of the university, enterprise, and alumni trio in the fields of cell therapy and food health. In the future, Tianyuan Biotechnology will rely on national-level platforms such as the National Stem Cell Translational Resource Bank and the Metabolic and Immune Monitoring Joint Laboratory to make sustained efforts with Ningbo University in technology R&D, joint talent cultivation, and industrial translation, jointly contributing Ningbo University strength and Tianyuan solutions to building a "Healthy Ningbo" and a "Strong Science and Technology City."
